Why "Terminus"?

Why "Terminus"?

Why "Terminus"?

ter·mi·nus

noun

  1. a final point in space or time; an end or extremity.
  2. the end of a railroad or other transportation route, or a station at such a point; a terminal.

The word "terminus" means the last or final point; a place where something ends or is complete. For thru hikers, the terminus is where you end your hike. It is also where you start. In the attached photo, you will see my wife, Christy, and me at the end of our Camino posing with the 0.00 KM marker in Finisterre, Spain.

During a hike, the terminus is your goal; your destination. Afterward, it serves as a symbol of your achievement--a sort of vessel for all your memories from that experience.

I chose the name Terminus because for me it both represents the memories of past adventures and inspires new goals and destinations. I hope that what we do here will inspire you to chase your goals and empower you to make some memories of your own.
